Breaking the Chains: Deconstructing Christianity and Reclaiming Your Life

For decades, I sat in pews, preached from pulpits, and led ministries that taught me God’s love came with conditions. That to belong, I had to suppress my questions, abandon my body, and shrink my truth. Like many of you, I didn’t just believe Christianity—I breathed it. Until it nearly killed me.

Deconstructing Christianity isn’t a trend. It’s a survival response to spiritual systems built on fear, control, and disembodiment. And for many, it’s the first act of sacred rebellion—of coming home to the truth that lives beneath indoctrination.

Why People Are Leaving High-Control Religion

Whether it’s evangelicalism, fundamentalism, or charismatic culture, high-control religion often conditions us to distrust our intuition, demonize our desire, and fear our own autonomy. I’ve worked with clients who’ve carried shame for years—about their sexuality, their anger, their boundaries, their grief. These systems don’t teach us how to be fully human—they teach us how to be compliant.

And yet…

You’re not crazy for questioning. You’re waking up.

What Happens When You Deconstruct?

Deconstruction is more than rejecting beliefs—it’s the unwinding of programming from your nervous system. It’s the grief of losing community, identity, and the God you thought you knew. It’s also the gateway to something more honest, more alive, and more you.

In my work with clients, here’s what the path often includes:

  • Releasing internalized shame and guilt

  • Grieving the spiritual abuse or loss of belonging

  • Reconnecting with the body and reclaiming agency

  • Redefining life on your own terms

Why I Do This Work

I spent 38 years inside the Christian system. I have a theology degree. I led youth and adults across continents. And then, when the walls came down, I left everything—career, reputation, community. I burned it all and rebuilt from the ground up. Not because I lost faith, but because I couldn’t stay faithful to a system that betrayed me.

Now, I walk with others as they untangle their stories. I hold space for the rage, the grief, the release—and the rebirth.

You’re Not Alone

If you’re in the middle of this unraveling, know this: you don’t have to do it alone. This path is sacred, painful, and powerful. And there is life on the other side of religious trauma—one rooted in autonomy, pleasure, truth, and radical self-trust.

This is your exodus. And I’m here to walk it with you.
